Senior Athletics

After two weeks of running, jumping and throwing the senior athletic team to represent the school at the Masterton Interschools athletics has been finally determined. Students highlighted grey have qualified and the fourth student in each event (if applicable) will be the reserve.

Running qualifiers will follow.

The event will take place on November 12th. More details will follow soon.

Stars of the A & P Show

This afternoon the students were treated to a visit by Nigel Kennedy the magician and BJ Bear, both of whom are starring at this year's A and P Show at the weekend.

Xav was lucky enough to be invited up on stage to do some magic tricks with Nigel and BJ Bear made us all laugh and sing as he always does.

Please come along to the show if you can and join them for the fun. Your child has a special A & P pass which entitles them to a free goody bag on entry worth $25 and they can enter into a free prize to win the school some fantastic prizes.

  And to top it off it looks like the weather is going to be great at the weekend. Have fun !!

10 Inspiring People From The Last 100 Years

So who are the individuals who have inspired people over the last 100 years ? Here are just a few for discussion, but it gets us started. Is there anything that they have in common ? 

Incredibly Inspiring People

This term we are looking at every day people who achieve extraordinary things. Nick Vujicic fits that criteria beautifully. We can all learn so much from his simple attitude towards life.

No Such Word as "Can't" !!

Today Xavier proved that he is a very capable mathematician when he proved to himself that he can solve problems which he thought he could never do.

There is a lesson for us all here - we can do anything if we have the right frame of mind and believe in ourselves.

Live in the Studio

Video highlights of today's senior term 4 radio show at the Arrow FM studios. We had a great time and everyone (including Mr Day) learnt heaps of stuff from Michael the Radio Manager.  The whole programme will be available on the Room 1 blog next week so that fans out there can hear the full extent of our talents. Well done folks !

ON AIR

A huge well done to the students who worked so hard at the Arrow Fm radio studios today for our final show of the term. The two hour recording of our "High Seas Adventure" was fantastic !

The themed show, which featured Emily Murray and Jackson Gordon-Wiles lost at sea, was pre-recorded today in the Masterton studios and will be aired on Arrow FM 92.7 FM on Labour Monday at 11.30am.

If you cannot tune in to the show live we will download the show onto our blog so you can listen at any time.

It really was a wonderful piece of team work and an opportunity for everyone to see how a real radio show is produced. 

We would like to thank Michael and Veronika at Arrow FM without whose help this would not be possible. Sorry Michael but it seems we've left you with a few hours of editing to do !
