A Fish's Tale

In keeping with the Book of the Week theme, Mr Day told us a fishy tale all about the 2 metre long trout he caught at the weekend - unfortunately it got away. Anyway he brought in another, somewhat smaller, brown trout and showed us how to fillet it ready for the smoker. 

We also got to talk about how it feeds and even stick our fingers in it's mouth to feel its sharp teeth.

In term 4, we aim to try smoking trout ourselves at school and eat it perhaps for the first time. Possibly a Fish Festival with Mr Murray supplying the fresh kahawai and Mr Day the trout. Yum !!
